Steady Spring Listings and Sales
Mortgage rates rose for two-consecutive weeks in late April, hovering above 7% for the first time since 2024. Latest rates here.
Buyers were relatively active in the first-half of April. Here on Capitol Hill, new and active listings were up from the previous month, along with a more than 50% increase in homes sold (both condos & fee simple homes); contracts and pending sales dropped slightly from March, particularly for condos, a possible consequence of the last few weeks of elevated mortgage rates.
